Pisum sativum
Introduced by the Spanish. The seed is eaten green and dried peas are used in soups or cooked like beans. Approx. 50- seeds/packet
A cool season crop that should be planted in the fall or winter. Plant 1/2 inch deep and 6 inches apart. Plants will sprawl and can produce until days get too hot.
A self- pollinating annual. Dried pods can be harvested as they mature or entire plants dried and threshed near the end of the season.
