Types of Seeds Workshop - Oro Valley Public Library
Thursday, December 7th
10 AM - 12 PM
1305 W Naranja Dr
In this talk, Native Seeds/SEARCH staff members will discuss the seed varieties available to home gardeners. Terms like hybrid, GMO, organic, and open-pollinated all have different meanings. These terms provide information about the type of produce you are able to grow, and your ability to save seeds. Even if you don't garden, this information is helpful when purchasing food from mainstream retailers or farmer's markets.
Phoenix Public Market - Pop-up Shop and Workshop
Every 3rd Saturday August - December
8 AM - 12 PM
721 N Central Avenue (Central and McKinley)
Join us for a pop-up shop during the weekly Saturday farmer's market. We will have seeds for our favorite varieties to plant in the Phoenix area, heritage food products, and information for you to succeed with your garden. Occasionally we will also have seasonally appropriate plant starts. At 9 AM there will be free workshop. Oct: Basics of Seed Saving. Nov: Desert Foods for the Holidays - Mesquite, Tepary Beans, Heritage Corn and Wheat. Dec: Starting and Saving Tomatoes in your Desert Garden.
