Ethnobotanist and NS/S board member Martha Burgess (Flor de Mayo Arts) will show you how to harvest, process, preserve, and cook with cholla buds, a traditional food of the Native Peoples of the Sonoran desert. Cholla buds are a superfood with high available calcium and complex carbohydrates that help balance blood sugar levels and provide sustained energy.
