Volunteer Information and Opportunities

Volunteer help is needed at our Conservation Farm.  We have 3 openings to work on our Farm in Patagonia on Wednesdays.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to see first hand the type of work that produces the seeds for our seed bank.  Tasks include: harvesting plants for food (food is sold on consigment at the Community Food Bank farmer's market), weeding and other general tasks.  Volunteers must be able to work outdoors.  NS/S staff leaves Tucson at 6 a.m. and returns by 4 p.m.; however, shifts can be shorter if the volunteer provides his/her own transportation to Patagonia.

Native Seeds/SEARCH conserves, distributes and documents the adapted and diverse varieties of agricultural seeds, their wild relatives and the role these seeds play in cultures of the American Southwest and northwest Mexico.

WE NEED YOU! A corps of committed volunteers is at the heart of NS/S. We have a variety of interesting projects from which to choose.

Go here to fill out our application and be considered for a volunteer position. Once received, our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to arrange an orientation. For more information, email volunteer@nativeseeds.org.
