Join us for a One-Day-Only, outdoor event at the NS/S Conservation Center featuring a large selection of Rarámuri (Tarahumara) handwoven baskets, and an assortment of hand-crafted gift items. There will also be seeds available for your winter garden!
This show is dedicated to NS/S founding members Mahina Drees and Barney Burns. Mahina recently retired after 38 years of involvement with NS/S as a founder, Executive Director, and for the last 27 years, as a member of the Board of Directors. Barney passed away in 2014.
Both were largely responsible for the NS/S conservation of Rarámuri seeds and in supporting Native artisans throughout the US Southwest and Northern Mexico. Their passion for seed saving and Native arts lead to decades of working and partnering with Native communities.
