Cucurbita argyrosperma. The round, flattened fruits are white with green mottled stripes. Grown for the long, narrow seeds, which are toasted for snacks or ground to prepare Pipian sauces. We have no data about whether the flesh is edible or not. Originally collected in a market in Veracruz, southern Mexico, which has a rainy, humid hot summer season -- so this is not necessarily an arid-adapted variety. From our Seed Bank Collection.
