San Juan Pueblo Cushaw

EA007

Cucurbita argyrosperma.  A rare squash from Ohkay Owingeh, formerly San Juan Pueblo.  Fruits can grow up to 15 lbs and are light with green stripes, slowly ripening to yellow/orange.  Some fruits have a rounded pear shape, others have necks.  Some have warts on the upper parts.  Flesh is light yellow-orange.  Plants show a good resistance to squash bugs.  From our Seed Bank Collection.

  • Origin: High desert, about 4950' elevation
