Sorrento Broccoli Raab
Brassica rapa, Ruvo Group. Also known as rapini and broccoli rabe. This broccoli-relative is very popular in Italian cuisine where it is often served with olive oil and garlic. It has a complex flavor said to be more bitter or pungent than broccoli. Sorrento is a fast producing variety, harvestable in about 40 days (may take longer during the dark winter months). Easier to grow than broccoli in the low desert. Stems, leaves and flower buds are all edible. Not from our seed bank collection, but your purchase supports our conservation mission.
