Zea mays. This beautiful heirloom corn has roots in Iowa in the mid 1800's. The 7-10 foot stalks bear ears of golden kernels, and some of russet red. Very productive at our Conservation Farm in Patagonia AZ, and does well in a variety of growing conditions. Ideal for milling for grits or cornmeal; high protein content.
