Okite

I actually failed to get these to grow in their intended spot, but a few seeds must have travelled on my shoes and I noticed a few growing just fine among my wildflowers, so I’ve left them for now, but I intend to crop their flowers before they seed. Definitely be more careful than I was and very deliberately place your seeds where you want them to grow. There’s a big one literally growing between two bricks that split itself into two, so it’s extremely resilient.

The stems, leaves, and flowers are also green, but it could be because these ones get more shade. Some of the unsuccessful ones were almost completely red, and these still have shades of red splashed around, so it does appear as though you will get them to grow either green or red based on their environmental conditions, which is kind of neat. They’re still very pretty plants, so I don’t mind having them a smaller form even if I can’t harvest them.

At first I was disappointed because nothing was sprouting, and when they did sprout they were really struggling. However, once the weather warmed up, they exploded! I ate some of the leaves and also harvested the seeds (which takes forever). It also reseeded quite a bit, as I was finding little plants all throughout my yard. I saved some of the seeds and will be planting them again.

I haven't had a chance to plant them yet as I live in Wyoming and I've been afraid of freezing them.
