Cowpeas/Black-Eyed Peas
Please do not order more than 3 packets of any one variety, and no more than 40 packets total.
Vigna unguiculata. An introduced legume from Africa that tolerates high heat and drought - a good producer in the low, hot desert. Peas can be eaten green (immature) or dry. Pods can be eaten like green beans when small, and the greens are also edible when cooked. Deep roots, heat tolerance and nitrogen fixing make it a great warm-season cover-crop. Also known as Southern Peas or Crowders. Approx. 5g/30 seeds per packet.
