  • Sorghum bicolor. Collected at Sweetwater on the Gila River Indian Reservation. Kaña was often grown for the sweet cane it produced. Stalks were cut into small pieces, split open and the juices sucked out. (Photo shows sugary sap on the leaves attracting bees in a growout in Phoenix). From our Seed Bank Collection.
