Santo Domingo Native

  • F018
  • Cucumis melo. Also collected from Santo Domingo Pueblo, these are typical of the "native" melons grown for centuries in the pueblos of New Mexico. The fruit are oblong, ribbed, and have predominantly smooth skin. Some netting or "cracking" occurs. The flesh is orange and tasty.  For this and other thin skinned melons, turn the growing melons once a week to keep them from developing a soft spot where they touch the ground.  From our Seed-Bank Collection.

    • Origin: High desert, 5200' elevation
    • Approx. 1g/25 seeds per packet.
    • Limit 3 packets
  • $3.95
