    • Cucurbita moschata.  From Sonora Mexico, this is one of the oldest types of cultivated squash. Excellent producer of large, light orange, ribbed fruits with a flattened pumpkin shape (like a wheel of cheese) and wonderfully sweet, bright orange flesh. A staff and volunteer favorite! From our Seed Bank Collection.

      • Origin: high desert at about 3600' elevation, but can perform well at lower elevations
      • About 3 months from planting to first edible fruit; keeps producing until frost
      • Approx. 3g/±15 seeds per packet
      • Limit 3 packets.
    • $3.95

    Loves the Arizona Summer

USDA Zone 9B. Elev 1450’. This squash did very well in my irrigated garden. A large plant that grew up and over the arch And made for it. The squash tastes great using recipes for butter nut squash. Easy to grow and great yields.

    Can’t Wait For Spring

Ordered these in the fall, so I. Have not had the chance to plant. Anxiously waiting for spring to arrive to plant my seed. The seeds looked healthy and yes I did receive my order.

    Magdalena Squash

This vegetable does very well in Tucson. It is both a summer squash and a winter squash. If you pick one when it's very young, you have a summer squash. If you let it go, you can harvest a huge winter squash in the fall. Careful, it will take over your whole yard!
