Panicum sonorum. Panic Grass. A rare grass. The small golden seed is rich in lysine. Attractive plants are fast growing and heat tolerant. Birds love it! The grass can be used as forage, and the tiny seed, which is high in lysine, can be harvested for grain.

Origin: low desert, 1640' elevation
A warm weather crop.
In the low desert it is traditionally planted with the summer rains.

I was looking for a plant the Lovebirds could use that was different from the other flowers in my yard. They are enjoying it. :)

It grew nicely. Plan on ordering more for a bigger plot. Going to try and cultivate the seeds next time to preserve.

I'm excited to plant this seed

I had to get my summer garden planted first, but I plan to plant this sagui seed very soon and can't wait to see it growing and watch the birds enjoying it.

Panic grass grew great!

We use it as a cut flower filler and it grew wonderfully.
