Brassica rapa var. chinensis.  A cabbage relative, but much milder in flavor.  Thick green leaves and crunchy white base on a smallish plant.  Excellent for stir fry.  Cold tolerant and slow to bolt.  Not from our seed bank collection, but your purchase supports our conservation mission.

  • Plant in fall or very early spring in the low desert.
  • Approx. 0.5g/250 seeds per packet.

Poor germination

I ordered four or five packets of winter vegetables, planted them on September 30th, and have had zero germination. Seeds from another supplier planted at the same time and in the same conditions have emerged with a good germination percentage. I give two stars instead of one, because I support the mission of NSS.
