• CRUZ21

This handwoven basket is by Tohono O'Odham artist Della Cruz from Sells, Arizona. This shallow, oval plate measures approximately 9.25 inches long and 8 inches wide and is about 1.5 inches deep.

Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert. Coils are native beargrass and the closed stitches are of sun bleached yucca. The black material used for the deer and trim is Devil's Claw pod and the red used for the saguaro blossoms is a rare material: yucca root. Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
