Javelina Sow & Piglet with Saguaro Woven Sculpture - By Fred Cruz

This handwoven basket sculpture is by Tohono O'odham Fred Cruz and measures approximately 7.25 inches at its highest point with a 5.5 inch round platform base. 

Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert for basket weaving. The interior green coils (warp) are native Beargrass and the green unbleached Soaptree Yucca stitching is used throughout this piece. The saguaro has rare red Banana Yucca root used at its top to indicate saguaro fruit. The Javelinas are woven from unbleached Yucca.
