Zuni Carvings

Explore handcrafted Zuni animal carvings, also known as fetishes, created by Zuni and other Pueblo artisans. These small sculptures are traditionally carved from stone, shell, and other natural materials, with each animal representing qualities such as healing, protection, or good fortune.

Many Zuni carving families are known for their distinctive artistic styles or for carving particular animals. Some carvings feature a heartline, symbolizing vitality or the strengthening of an animal's attributes.
