Call for Artists

Payment of $500 will be awarded to the chosen artist

Native Seeds/SEARCH is seeking an Indigenous artist to design the cover for our 2022 Seedlisting.  Native Seeds/SEARCH is a non-profit seed conservation organization preserving heirloom agricultural seeds from the Southwestern US and Northwestern Mexico.  The Seedlisting is an annual seed catalog listing highlights of seed varieties available for sale and through NS/S access programs.  We seek Indigenous art for the cover to celebrate and honor the Native connection to the seeds, as 70% of seeds in the seed bank collection come from Indigenous communities.
•    Finished Cover Size:  6" wide x 9 7/8" tall;  
            Artwork submitted should be 6.25” wide x 10.062” tall,  edges will be cropped
•    Full color, in any media
•    A one-inch band of solid color must be left at top or bottom of image for Seedlisting title and year
•    Payment of $500 will be awarded to the chosen artist

To apply, submit finished artwork by September 24, 2021;

Include the following information with your sketch:
•    Artist name, location, tribal affiliation, and contact info
•    Description of media
