Phaseolus vulgaris. Rarámuri Bakámina (Tarahumara Bakámina). A rare, disappearing variety. Semi-pole plants produce tiny, burgundy, kidney-shaped seeds with a black ring around the hilum. Occasional solid black and speckled beans. Pods are quite long and make excellent green beans. From our Seed Bank Collection.


• Origin: high desert, 7480' elevation
• Bushy-pole habit
• Day length sensitive; may not have time to produce well in northern climates.  Plant with monsoon rains in the low desert.
