  • Zea mays. (Tarahumara Maiz Caliente). Called caliente because it is planted by the Rarámuri at the hottest time of the year. Grown in the lower canyons, the tall plants bear long ears of small apricot/copper color kernels.  From our Seed Bank Collection.

    • Origin: high desert, but can perform well in low desert locations
    • Approx. 16g/50 seeds per packet.
