Zea mays. Also called Hopi Greasy Head or Hopi Purple. Beautiful, unique plum-colored kernels on 10-12" ears. This seed was grown on Hopi land. Often planted early by Hopi farmers so the harvest can be used for the Home Dance ceremony in July. Plants are short (3'). 56 days to pollination, 103 days to dried ears from planting in Patagonia, Arizona (4,000'). Kernels have an oily, or greasy, appearance.
