    Davis Green Cotton

    • H005
    • Gossypium hirsutum x G. barbadense.  An intentional cross between Pima cotton and a Louisiana green cotton, selected by weaver and hobbyist cotton-breeder Phreadde Davis in Albuquerque to create a richer color and longer fiber. The lint color is variable, sometimes pale green, olive, blue-green, or brown. It is said to produce a longer fiber than most green cottons. Warmer weather and more mature plants produce a darker green fiber. (Our growout in Tucson produced more green color than our crop from Patagonia.)  Boil the fibers (usually after weaving) to bring out the color … additional washings will deepen the color further.  From our Seed Bank Collection.

      • A warm season crop that requires hot weather over a long season.
      • Approx. 2g/20 seeds per packet.
      • Limit 3 packets

    Fantastic Green Cotton

I’m a first time cotton grower got a nice harvest from it with minimal effort last year! Saved seeds and it’s growing beautifully again this year. Nearly 100% germination rate, but only thrive when direct-sown

    Excellent germination rate

I'm very happy with these seeds. I used a heating mat with a test batch of seeds, and they sprouted in a day or 2. I now have 4 or 5 little cotton plants growing in a small pot. The ones that didn't grow are purely my mistake.

Glad to support NSS and their mission.

    Great green cotton

I've spun some Davis green before - PD and I have been friends for a long time. I have some of her seeds still, but thought I would get fresher seeds. PD did wonderful job of breeding these cotton seeds. Thank you for carrying them.
