Phaseolus vulgaris. Rarámuri Star (Tarahumara Star). Pretty dark lilac flowers produce good-tasting green beans late in the season.  Collected from the heart of the Sierra Madre in Chihuahua. Black pattern radiates outward from the seed "eye" across a white background. From our Seed Bank Collection.

• Day length sensitive; may not have time to produce well in northern climates.  Plant with monsoon rains in the low desert.
