La Jara

Vicia faba. From the community of La Jara in far south-central Colorado, this fava was collected from a local farming family in 1995. Among the largest fava beans in our collection.  Powered through a rough season when other favas struggled.  From our Seed Bank Collection.
• Origin: high desert, about 7100' elevation
  
• Plant in fall or late winter in the low desert, or early spring at higher elevations.  Favas are cold tolerant plants.
• Approx. 23g/15 seeds per packet.
