    • Beta vulgaris ssp. cicla.  This chard is beautifully ornamental in the garden or on the plate, and tastes great too! Mix includes seeds for yellow, magenta, deep red, light pink, and white stemmed plants. All have deep-green, savoyed leaves. Try the young leaves are wonderful raw in salads and sandwiches, or steam or stir fry the larger leaves. The stems also have a crisp and delicate flavor.

Delicious to the caterpillars

I haven’t harvested yet, still fighting to save from caterpillar consumption. I planted more seeds the past few weeks. Excellent response to growing in my raised garden bed in composted soil in Henderson, NV. I hope to enjoy once I get the my situation under control.

Fantastic

Huge, delicious, colorful leaves. They don't seem to mind crowding at all. I over-sowed them in a fabric pot ammended with a lot of good compost and they're a jungle of growth bursting from the pot, even with frequent harvesting. One of the happiest plants in my garden.

Germination issue

I have tried three times under different conditions. Not one germinated. I am trying a 4th time by soaking before planting.
