    • Zea mays.  These bright yellow kernels on long ears borne on 3-5 foot plants are traditionally used for grinding. Yellow is one of the four colors central to Navajo culture, and this is the only yellow corn of Navajo heritage that we currently have available for distribution. Some white and pink kernels may also appear.  Originally from the Big Mountain area on the Navajo Nation. From our Seed Bank Collection.

      • Origin: high desert, about 6000' elevation
      • About 60 days to flowering and 120 days to dry seed harvest
