Desert Javelina Woven Sculpture by Fred Cruz

This handwoven basket sculpture is by Fred Cruz and measures approximately 7 inches at its highest point with a 5.5 inch base. 

Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert for basket weaving. The interior green coils (warp) are native Beargrass and the green stitching used for the saguaro and Javelina is unbleached Soaptree Yucca. Black Devil's Claw pod is used to accent the Javelina's eyes. Rare red Banana Yucca root is used to indicate saguaro fruit at the top of cactus.
