Zea mays. A Mexican-June type corn grown by Yoeme farmers with irrigation near Pótam and Vícam, Sonora. Used to make hominy/posole by soaking overnight in water with lime or mesquite ash, then ground into masa for tortillas. Large kernels, mostly white and yellow, on thick cobs.
