Zea mays. This collection was being grown in the sierra above the Rio Urique (in Chihuahua, Mexico) but the seed had originally been brought from La Bufa in Copper Canyon. A Tarahumara variety. Kernels are mostly yellow or white with some smoky apricot colored as well, possibly due to a chapalote influence. From our Seed Bank Collection.
