ZT053

Zea mays. This collection was being grown in the sierra above the Rio Urique (in Chihuahua, Mexico) but the seed had originally been brought from La Bufa in Copper Canyon. A Tarahumara variety.  Kernels are mostly yellow or white with some smoky apricot colored as well, possibly due to a chapalote influence. From our Seed Bank Collection.

  • Includes flour and flint type kernels
  • Origin: high desert
  • Ears are 5-9 inches in length
  • Approx. 15g/50 seeds per packet.
These seeds are part of our conservation program and are not available for purchase. They are only available through Native American Seed Request or Bulk Seed Exchange.
