"Harvesting" Doll with Olla by Della Cruz

This handwoven basket sculpture is by Tohono O'odham artist Della Cruz from Sells, Arizona.

• Della & Fred Cruz are known for their unique, figurative, sculptural baskets. This lovely lady with olla (pot) on her head measures approximately 8 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter at widest point. A coyote track design is on front of the body
• The olla lifts off to reveal inside storage for hidden treasures
• Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert
• Green inner coils are native Beargrass and the white, split stitches are of sun-bleached Soaptree Yucca, the green stitches are unbleached Yucca. The black material used for facial detail and decorative trim is from Devil's Claw pod
• Note: Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
