TS025
I got 1 seed to germinate out of 3 dozen that I seeded and reseeded. So here I am 1.5 months after my first seeding with much fewer beets than desired while other people I know have bunches, including the person who shares a plot with me and has identical soil and watering habits. I have to think the issue is with the seeds. I bought some from home depot last week and did a third seeding so I'll soon be able to truly see if it's the seeds or something else.
Still snow on the ground. Haven’t planted yet
gemination was nonexistent
I'm sorry you had trouble sprouting your beet seeds. We run regular germination tests on every seed variety we sell to be sure they are healthy seeds. This variety recently passed with flying colors, testing at 84% germination. However, there are many things that can affect germination, such as temperature, pests, and more. If you like, check out the 'Tips for Planting from Seed' under Gardening Resources on our website.
I planted these seeds in my fall garden and have been enjoying beautiful and delicious beets and beet greens. We've had temperatures in the 80s and in the 40s and the beets just keep on growing!
I planted them a few weeks ago and just about all of the seeds have sprouted. So far so good.
