Atlixco Quelite

I got hooked on these with Tucson CSA, and the only version they sold in the locally in Mexican grocery stores locally was versulagas…not the same. So versatile. Growing them now in San Diego inland valley where many traditional greens like lettuce and brassicas do poorly except in the winter and early spring. Everything I plant in my garden in SD that does well was in Tucson CSA/seed search sourced. Planted once, let it go to seed, and now have volunteers. I pick them for water I need that day, soups, sautees, etc. this plant is just a no brainer and beats baby spinach with a stick.

Atlixco Quelite

I grew these last year and had two great tall monuments in my garden for almost a year. I didn't yet try to grow them this year

I am growing in a 7 gal. Grow bag, partial shade, kept moist. Maybe I did not sow thickly enough. Have not gotten enough/big enough plants to try in salads yet but sure it will be delicious. Putting the rest of the seeds in this week to see if I get a better result.

Only one plant sprouted. NONE of my other seeds sprouted this year, melons, watermelons, squash, purslane. Winter and last summer was successful. Also, all 4 plants I bought a special sale died within 2 weeks.
