    • Solanum lycopersicum. Collected from the Punta Banda Peninsula in Baja California. Indeterminate plants produce hundreds of red meaty, thick skinned fruits despite heat, water stress and poor soil. Great paste tomato. Performed impressively in our 2012 trials in Tucson, producing throughout the summer despite full exposure and harsh conditions. It was also incredibly productive in 2018 at Mission Garden and again in 2025 at our Conservation Center. A staff favorite! From our seed bank collection.

Did great in my High Desert Garden

I planted these in my Utah (Carbon County) garden in at an altitude of ~6500 ft. I have 3 plants in my garden which are producing a high number of ripe tomatoes on a dayly basis. We have a short growing season so my plants were slow to get going they have out passed everything else in my garden.

The flavor is sweet. I do like a bit more tartness in my tomatoes but I over all really like the flavor.

    Indestructible!

These tomatoes are champs, they take the heat and keep producing long after others give up the ghost. Not my favorite for fresh eating because of the thick skins, but we use them for sauces. Last year they flourished in grow bags and this spring they were the first variety to set fruit. Very sturdy plants.

The product description is accurate. This does very well in hot conditions and less than ideal soil. One volunteered last year in the garden, grew throughout the summer, overwintered, survived a light frost, and is now taking over the garden again this year. I love this variety.

    Great start

Just wanted to leave a note here: I have only just started growing these from seed this season, but these tomato seedlings in particular seem to be putting roots out faster and deeper than my other seedlings. Root system seems to outpace the plant above soil which is a relief when starting seedlings indoors. Germination rate for me was very high, 95-100%
