Olla Basket with Shoulder - Wheat Stitch

This handwoven Tohono O'odham olla basket is by Jeanette Pablo and measures approximately 5 inches high and 5 inches wide at the shoulder.

Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert for basket weaving. The interior green coils (warp) are native Beargrass and the white stitches (weft) woven around the coils are sun-bleached Soaptree Yucca. Black material is Devil's Claw pod.

Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
