Ancient Gourmet Beans!

I love these. Teparies make the smoothest refrieds I've ever had. Very mild taste, tan and brown varieties. All the historical varieties of beans I've tried have a rich flavor the grocery beans don't have, with the exception of adzukis. If you haven't sprung for these treasures, you should give them a try!

Superflavor from this superfood.

I've tried several of the tepary bean varieties, and this is my favorite. A slightly sweet and nutty flavor with a wonderful mouth-feel. I use a slow-cooker with a little bit of bullion. Delicious.

Brown Tepary Beans are great!

I love my brown Tepary beans. Made chili with them. Everyone thought there was meat in the chili. But NO! Chili was vegetarian and still very filling and satisfying. Yea for the high protein content of the beans! They also make a good side dish to go with tamales. Top with chopped onions and salt.
