Gossypium spp. Cultivated since ancient times, people around the world have utilized the fiber for spinning and weaving. Cotton usage has a very long history in the americas; Gossypium hirsutum was likely domesticated in Central or South America.  The remains of a cultivated patch of cotton in the Tonto Basin in Arizona was dated to 200 AD.

In frost free areas, cotton can be a perennial shrub or small tree. Approx. 2g/20 seeds per packet.
