    • Citrullus lanatus.  Small, sweet, red-fleshed melons from a Mayo farmer in Piedras Verdes, Sonora, Mexico.  Traditionally dry farmed and planted with the rains in June/July.  From our Seed Bank Collection.

    Matured at 7,400 ft

    It's very hard to grow melons here and we got mature ones outside of a greenhouse! They were grown in a Zuni waffle bed style planting which really helped. We had 126 days between Frost this year and Cold soil.
