    Havasupai Striped

    • I002
    • Helianthus annuus.  A branched sunflower variety that can reach over 8' tall. Flowers are medium sized, 5-7". Collected from the Havasupai Reservation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Long narrow seeds. Lodging (falling over) can be problem in the low desert, as the tall plants can be toppled by wind.  It's a good idea to provide support. From our Seed Bank Collection.

      • Origin: low desert, about 3200' elevation
      • Branched variety with smaller flower heads, though occasionally large heads are produced
      • Approx. 2g/25 seeds per packet.
      • Limit 3 packets
These seeds are part of our conservation program and are not available for purchase. They are only available through Native American Seed Request
    • $3.95

    Havasupai Striped Sunflowers

All seeds sprouted and the plants are growing well. They haven’t flowered yet but I’m looking forward to when they do!

    Too soon to evaluate

Seeds not yet planted, because threat of frost still exists here. The average date of last frost in Las Vegas is in April.
