Phaseolus vulgaris.  Hopi White Bean. Large white bean variety originally collected in 1987 in Hotevilla on the Hopi Reservation. These early-maturing beans (67 days to green bean and 110 days to dry maturity at the Conservation Farm in Patagonia) are also called "rotten beans".  From our Seed Bank Collection.
