Blue Corn Maiden Sculpture with Hummingbird

    • Elegantly adorned Blue Corn Maiden sculpture featuring a delicately carved hummingbird pollinating corn within the body of the carving. Entire piece is handcarved from a singe piece of cottonwood root, as is the Hopi tradition
    • The Blue Corn Maiden appears at Soyal ceremony at the start of the Katsina season. She blesses the openings to the Hopi kivas with cornmeal and a prayer for the corn crops to provide ongoing food for Mother Earth's children. Blue Corn Maiden reminds us to always be thankful for the rich bounty of our Mother Earth.
