  • Zea mays.  Hopi Blue. A soft blue flour corn traditionally dry-farmed below the Hopi mesas. Deep rooted and drought tolerant, loves sandy soil. Blue kernels are ground to make piki bread. From our Seed Bank Collection.

Most successful I've ever been with corn!

I have tried a few different kinds of corn here in the eastern part of San Diego county, but I have never had much success. This corn has been, by far, much more successful than any of the previous varieties I've tried. It is currently about 5 feet tall and starting to form flowers.
