    A Quail couple marks their friendship and jurney in the sand as rain gathers on the horizon. Called Kowarpa in the Hopi language, Quail is a spirit of the earth known for it's quickness and protection of the family.

    6" square. Wrapped Canvas.

    Gerald Dawavendewa is a member of the Hopi tribe. He grew up in the village of Munqapi, located in northern Arizona. In 1994, Gerald sent an artwork depicting the Hopi cosmos aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour. He is also Author and Illustrator of the children's book "The Butterfly Dance". Gerald's work reflects the rich traditions of his Hopi & Cherokee culture.

Love this print

The quail print is lovely. Have a place in my heart for them. I have a different species where I live but I grew up with the quail with the curl top. I love his prints.
