A Tucson native, Joel (he/him) has been growing seed year-round since 2017 and has worked and studied on farms in Arizona, Washington, Pennsylvania, Costa Rica, and Zambia.
Joel graduated from Messiah College with degrees in both Sustainable Agriculture and English, focusing his undergraduate research on how ecological narratives of the Sonoran Desert have shaped human interactions with this land.
Joel also provides writing and editing support to human-scale farms around the world through his freelancing business, Narratives of Place.
