Rarámuri Yellow Apachito
ZT036Zea mays. (Tarahumara Yellow Apachito). Similar to Tsetakame (Tarahumara Apachito) but these kernels are predominantly yellow, with occasional pink or apricot. One of the favorite races grown by the Rarámuri. Apachitos are the fastest maturing Rarámuri corn in the NS/S collection. Short plants. Used for cornmeal, tortillas, atole (a corn based drink), and pink variants are used to prepare tesgüino, a corn beer. From our Seed Bank Collection.
