Phaseolus vulgaris.  A pretty, medium-sized black bean from the central Mexican city of Delores de Hidalgo. This pole bean produces lots of dark lilac flowers and purple mottled pods. The dry beans have a sweet flavor and smooth texture; also a great green bean. From our Seed Bank Collection.
