Sonoran Cocoa with Mesquite and Chiles

  • DTB003
    • Sonoran Cocoa with Mesquite Meal & Santa Cruz Mild Chile.
    • Made with local velvet mesquite meal, this traditional beverage (known as Champurro de Péchitas) is uniquely sweetened by the natural tang of velvet mesquite flour (wildharvested in Tucson, AZ).
    • The chile (locally grown in the Santa Cruz River Valley) is very mild with no heat, but adds a hint of flavor.
    • Ingredients: Cacao, Velvet Mesquite Flour, Santa Cruz Mild Chile, Cinnamon, Clove, Himalayan Pink Salt
    • Add 1 Tablespoon of cocoa mix to 1 cup of hot liquid (milk, milk substitute, or water). Whisk together and sweeten to taste. Alternatively, simmer the mixture for 5-10 minutes for a thick, rich atole. Enjoy!
    • Made in Tucson, AZ.

Hot stuff

This luscious cocoa will warm you through and through on a cold day. Even when it’s below zero, as it has been here this winter. The flavor is very complex. You won’t want to drink it down, but savor every sip.

Yum !!

It was delicious. Great combination. I found I
could use much less than the tablespoon in a cup of milk that was recommended. A scant teaspoon was plenty.

More Cocoa, please

Good moderate cocoa and chile flavor, not excessively sweet.
